Kenneth Jay

Performer

Kenneth is proud to have been one of the original founding members of TEV in 1996, and played the lead role of Argan in the Company's maiden production: Molière's The Imaginary Invalid which toured Europe and played in Mumbai prior to a run at the Edinburgh Festival. He considers that project a high point of his career.

A native Canadian, Kenneth trained at Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto, appearing in numerous theatre productions in that city throughout the 70s prior to moving to the UK in 1983.

Other theatre includes Adam's Dream, Witness for the Prosecution, and Noises Off (UK national tours); A Midsummer Night’s Dream and  Measure for Measure - A B and C Theatre Company;  I Ought To Be In Pictures - Vienna English Theatre; Naked Justice - Birmingham Rep; The Odd Couple - Manchester Library; Problem Child - New End, Hampstead; Waiting for Godot - Pleasance Theatre London; Clara - Orange Tree; Cat’s Paw - Kings Head; Whistleblower: the Story of Edward Snowden - Waterloo East; It’s A Wonderful Life - Bridge House Theatre, Penge; No Villain  - Trafalgar Studios. He recently toured as understudy Arthur Kipps in Woman in Black.

London West End credits include Indian Ink and Cool Hand Luke (Aldwych), Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (Lyric), as well as understudy roles in The Boys Next Door (Comedy), Prisoner of Second Avenue (Haymarket), Enigmatic Variations (Savoy), Up For Grabs (Wyndhams), Hitchcock Blonde (Lyric), Coyote on a Fence (Duchess), Death of a Salesman (Lyric), and A Round Heeled Woman (Aldwych).

Film and television includes Cousin Bette, The Bill, Emmerdale, Happy Birthday Shakespeare, Baddiel’s Syndrome, Hotel!, The Brooklyn Bridge, Hiroshima, Big Nothing, H G Wells: At War with the World, The Other Wife, Woman in Gold, Dr Who, and Wonder Woman 1984 (due for release in 2020).
