Shakthidhar - The Silence of Music

The award-winning Baansuri flutist Shakthidhar Ayer honors us on June 1, 2024 at 7:30 PM in aconcert at the Urania in the first district of Vienna on this TEV: Culture of the Spirit Event.
The Bangalore-born flutist, accompanied by the multi-talented Venki DC on tabla, will greet us with Hindustani Ragas melodies. The evenings journey continues as the classical Indian notes fuse with those of the jazz saxophone, played by the Ukrainian alto saxophonist Anton Pyvovarov.
The overarching theme of the concert 'The Silence of Music', according to Shakthidhar, is "to create the inner silence or peace within us and connect with the all-pervading power around us."
"Music is a universal language and all music is as full of life as the musician himself. A typical performance is a journey from peace to bliss. As the raga unfolds, it brings us to a state of bliss that is simply pure joy and divine love. This is a total spiritual experience of stillness."
Shakthidhar Ayer has been playing the Bansuri - the Indian Reed Flute - from the age of 14 years.
His musical experience has taken him through classical, folk, world fusion and Bollywood film music. The genre he most enjoys is Hindustani classical which has the capacity to immerse both artist and audience into a state of joy and bliss.
“Our Indian classical music is a fully spontaneous experience of being “in the moment” -where the artist merges with the instrument and is able to bring the audience into a state of meditation."
Shakthidhar lives in Bangalore, India and will tour Europe with Venky DC this summer. They will perform with Anton again in the Ligurian valley outside of Milan at the TEV-Culture of the Spirit Festival.
Anton Pyvovarov: The young Ukrainian saxophonist Anton Pyvovarov - who is also a composer and great performer -studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and performs worldwide in various ensembles that present jazz and contemporary music. His imaginative works cover current topics that also move young people emotionally and spiritually.
Venky D C: Venky D C is an amazing multi-instrumentalist and percussion talent as well as a composer, director, and passionate educator based in Bangalore (India). He travels extensively throughout India & abroad for innumerable music festivals, master classes & cultural conferences. He has performed on percussion and as a singer, arranger & orchestral conductor in the USA, Switzerland, throughout Europe, as well as in the Middle East & Asia pacific regions.
As a tabla player and multi-percussionist, Venky D C makes remarkable contributions internationally through performances & master classes.

Der preisgekrönte indische Baansuri-Flötist Shakthidhar Ayer beehrt uns am 1. Juni 2024 um 19:30 Uhr in einem Konzert in der Urania im ersten Wiener Gemeindebezirk mit diesem TEV Culture of the Spirit Event.
Der aus Bangalore stammende Flötist wird uns, gemeinsam mit dem Multitalent Venki DC an der Tabla, zunächst mithilfe seiner Baansuri auf eine musikalische Reise in die Welt der klassischen Hindustani-Musik mitnehmen. Im zweiten Teil des Konzerts verschmelzen dann die Baansuri-Klänge mit denen des Jazzsaxophons, gespielt von dem ukrainischen Altsaxophonisten Anton Pyvovarov.
Das übergreifende Thema des Konzerts 'Die Stille der Musik' besteht, laut Shakthidhar, darin „die innere Stille oder den Frieden in uns zu schaffen und uns mit der alles durchdringenden göttlichen Kraft um uns herum zu verbinden.“
"Musik ist eine universelle Sprache und jede Musik ist so voller Leben, wie der Musiker selbst. Eine typische Aufführung ist eine Reise vom Frieden zur Glückseligkeit. Während sich der Raga entfaltet, bringt er uns in einen Zustand der Glückseligkeit, der einfach reine Freude und göttliche Liebe ist. Dies ist eine totale spirituelle Erfahrung der Stille."
Shakthidhar Ayer spielt seit seinem 14. Lebensjahr die Bansuri, eine indische Rohrflöte.
Seine musikalische Erfahrung führte ihn durch Klassik, Folk, Semi-Klassik, World Fusion und Bollywood-Filmmusik. Sein liebstes Genre ist jedoch die klassische Hindustani-Musik, worin sowohl er als Musiker als auch das Publikum jeweils in einen Zustand der Freude und Glückseligkeit eintauchen können.
"Unsere klassische indische Musik ist eine völlig spontane Erfahrung des 'im-Moment-Seins', wobei der Künstler mit dem Instrument verschmilzt und dabei das Publikum in einen Zustand der Meditation versetzen kann."
Shakthidhar lebt in Bangalore, Indien und wird diesen Sommer mit Venky DC durch Europa touren. Beide werden mit Anton im ligurischen Tal in der Nähe von Mailand beim TEV-Culture of the Spirit Festival wieder gemeinsam auftreten.
Anton Pyvovarov:
Der talentierte junge ukrainische Saxophonist Anton Pyvovarov, der auch Komponist und Interpret ist, studierte an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz. Er tritt weltweit in verschiedenen Ensembles auf, die Jazz aber auch zeitgenössische Musik präsentieren und berührt sein Publikum mit den beeindruckenden Klängen seines virtuosen Saxophonspiels. Seine fantasievollen Werke behandeln zudem aktuelle Themen, die auch junge Menschen emotional und spirituell bewegen.
Venky D C:
Der vielseitige Venky D C ist ein erstaunlicher Multiinstrumentalist und Perkussionist sowie ein Komponist, Regisseur und leidenschaftlicher Pädagoge aus dem indischen Bangalore. Er reist viel zu unzähligen Musikfestivals, Meisterklassen und kulturellen Konferenzen durch Indien aber auch ins Ausland. Als Perkussionist, Sänger, Arrangeur und Orchesterdirigent trat er bereits in den USA, der Schweiz, ganz Europa sowie im Nahen Osten und im asiatisch-pazifischen Raum auf.Venky D C leistete sowohl als Tabla-Spieler als auch als Multi-Percussionist durch Auftritte und Meisterkurse international bemerkenswerte Beiträge.
