Writer/Producer Steve Jones is currently living in Vienna and is involved in a number of film, animation and theatre projects:


‘White Lies and Roses’

This romantic comedy, written by Steve Jones, is being jointly produced with Los Angeles based producer Michel Shane of Hand Picked Films. The film is being directed by the award winning Australian director Nadia Tass and cast by LA based casting director Donna Morong.

‘Cracked Eggs’

CRACKED EGGS featuring Jared Harris (‘Benjamin Button’, ‘Mad Men Season 3’, ‘I Shot Andy Warhol’) was helmed by up and coming director Eric Loren and edited by BORAT/BRUNO editor James Thomas. Cracked Eggs was selected for the LA SHORTS, AUSTIN and BOSTON UNDERGROUND film festivals and was offered a distribution deal.

‘Charlie Don’t Surf’

This black comedy project is being produced by UK producer Chris Simon (BOOGIE WOOGIE) and New York based producer, Lemore Syvan (THE PRIVATE LIVES OF PIPPA LEE, SHERRY BABY).

Commissioned Work – Book Adaptations

In his capacity as commissioned screenwriter, Steve Jones is currently developing his third book adaptation for UK producers Haas-Silver-Levene films. The first 2 adaptations are a biographical drama based on a book published in 2009 by Harper Collins and a 19th century novel set in medieval Scotland.


Steve Jones has written and staged several plays including CRACKED EGGS, which was commissioned for a new writers’ season by the Finborough Theatre, London and BALOOPA’S JOURNEY which was funded by the Arts Council of Great Britain as a Theatre in Education project.

Steve Jones’ new play HERO AND ZERO was premiered on January 10th 2008 in the Drachengasse Theatre, Vienna to positive reviews.

Steve Jones has also developed a number of animation projects with author/artist/designer Finlay Cowan who has worked extensively for Pink Floyd and legendary album designer Storm Thorgerson.
