Namisa Mdlalose is a Fleur Du Cap award-winning actress from Cape Town, South Africa, now based in Boston, MA. A theatre-making graduate from the University of Cape Town, she excelled in performance, writing, directing, and designing.
She has performed in productions such as King Kong (directed by Jonathan Munby), The Color Purple (Janice Honeyman), Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Pantomime (Janice Honeyman and Timothy Le Roux), and Kinky Boots (Matthew Wild). Recently, she starred in the film A Christmas Chorus directed by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder.
Her language skills include IsiZulu and IsiXhosa.
As a theatre maker, she collaborated with Qondiswa James on the stage play Cwaka and with Shelley Lothian on the experimental film Girl, which won an Ovation Award at the 2020 National Arts Festival.
Namisa has been accepted into the renowned Groundlings Improv School in LA, where she aims to further develop her talents.
